Skills Strategies International Mandurah is a locally owned and operated registered training organisation which has operated in the Peel region for 25 years.

Skills Strategies offers a wide variety of courses from Aged Care to Hospitality and Tourism with a focus on getting their learners into the workplace. Many courses have significant government funding attached to them to help provide workers for skill shortage areas.

Skills Strategies International has expanded its industry-leading aged care training to include a highly practical mode of delivery run at the Coolibah Care aged care facility. This course has learners working and learning through on-the-job assessments. This gives learners practical experience while getting them a nationally recognised qualification. It also gives them a direct line to employment once their course is over. This course is ever expanding with the next intake starting in September.

Alana Malacari, the trainer in charge of the Coolibah Care group had this to say ‘Learning on the job provides a wealth of knowledge that simply can’t be taught in the classroom, its great to be able to give our students the opportunity to learn like this

Skills Strategies International has also developed an increased focus on traineeships within the Mandurah area, mostly focused on hospitality and tourism these courses provide benefits to the employer through government funding and skilled staff and to the employee through a formal qualification that recognises the practical skills they have learnt on the job.

Kynan Bright, Office Manager of Skills Strategies International Mandurah had this to say on traineeships: ‘Traineeships are a great way to help businesses get well trained and effective staff while also letting employees have formal recognition of their skills
